VICO Aluminium Mirror Coating Plants

Mirrors reflect the light that is directed at its surface. The choice of coating may enhance or diminish the reflectivity of the mirror.

A coated mirror can become less reflective if its coating tarnishes, oxidizes, that usually happens with using Silver.

Aluminum is a popular choice for mirror coatings because of its reflectance. It has very high reflectance of any metal in the visible spectrum and much more economical for producing in quantity compared to Silver deposited mirrors.

A Glass Washing Machine is generally required along with Glass Coating Machine for Cleaning and drying the flat glass. The surface of the glass has lots of dust particles, greasiness and hand marks. This usually interrupts the coating quality in terms of adhesion of the coating and brilliance or shine of the coating. A Glass washing machine overcomes this problem and gives perfect coating and optical quality on the glass mirrors.

 

  • The machine consists of sections for loading, washing, drying and un-loading of glass sheets.

  • It adopts frequency step-less speed, main drive is chain drive.

  • Integrated with two-step washing, equipped with SS Tanks, high-pressure pumps and air knives to dry the sheet.

  • Retrofitted with suitable vacuum rotary pump/ vacuum booster pump and diffusion pump.

  • Rugged construction of all mechanical assemblies and use of STAINLESS STEEL (grade-304) as primary construction material results in an exceptionally long life for the Plant.

  • All the operations of the Plant are remotely controlled from the Control Panel.

  • VICO Plants are used for making aluminium mirrors for glass sheets of size 4 ft x 6 ft and 4 ft x 8 ft. Any custom size can also be made as per customer’s requirement.

  • VICO offers two kind of chambers for above size. Two sheets and Four sheets chamber respectively. Chamber for coating Six-glass sheet in a single cycle can also be made as per customer’s requirement.

  • A glass washing machine and paint curtain coater are accessories that are required to complete the mirroring process. VICO shall assist you in procuring the same.

APPLICATION:

  • The machine is suitable for high gloss mirror coating of big size glass sheets.

  • Suitable for furniture, wood doors, metals, plastics, polymer composite boards, inorganic material boards and other flat plates.

 

WORKING PRINCIPLE: 

  • The paint is pumped from the oil storage drum to the shower head cavity by a special oil pump. 

  • After the paint fills the inner wall of the shower head, pressure is generated.

  • The paint falls uniformly from the narrow gauge curtain edge to form a uniform thin curtain.

  • The flat sheet is conveyed by the conveyor belt and passes through the screen at a uniform speed.

  • The surface is covered by uniform coating of paint on the glass sheet.

  • Suitable for UV/PU/NC/ WATER BORNE Paint types.

Conventionally, lacquers and paints have been dried and cured using hot-air ovens. The glass sheet once out of curtain coater can be stacked in these box type hot air ovens for drying. But longer curing time result in high electricity costs. Infrared curing results in uniform heating and reduces the baking time. Infrared energy is a form of radiation, which falls between visible light and microwaves in the electromagnetic spectrum.

 

The IR drying technology is widely spread and accepted as an efficient tool for drying, heating, and curing of paint. IR applies heat evenly across surfaces,

 

IR drying provides the following benefits:

  • Improves system’s moisture evaporation rate by directing more of the heat (at higher temperature) onto the surface.

  • Improves energy efficiency.

  • Increases the drying power output.

  • Provides better heat transfer capabilities and compactness
