Diffusion Pumps, Chevron-Baffle & Vacuum Valves
The Diffusion pump is known as a fluid entrainment pump and use a high speed jet of vapor to direct gas molecules in the pump throat down into the bottom of the pump and out the exhaust.
The oil vapor hits the water-cooled walls of the pump and cools as it runs down the sides of the pump.
At the bottom of the pump, the pressure is high enough for the gas to be pumped out by a standard mechanical pump.
The diffusion pump is widely used in both industrial and research applications.
VICO Oil Diffusion Pumps

VICO has 5 decades of experience in fabricating high quality diffusion pumps. From 100 mm diameter (4 inch) up to 1000 mm diameter (40 inch).
VICO oil diffusion pumps are fractionating type. These pumps incorporates the latest findings in Jet emission dynamics and vapour removal techniques and can be used for all applications where vacuum levels better than 10−3 Mbar is required. With proper traps and baffles, these diffusion pumps can give much better performance up to 1×10−6 Mbar.
-
Our D.P. achieves High vacuum in the range of 1×10−6 Mbar (1.3×10−4 Pa)
-
The speed ranges from 500 l/s to 50000 l/s
-
Improves cycle time of the vacuum system by achieving high vacuum faster and retaining the vacuum levels due to high quality fabrication.
-
The design of jet-assembly is an exclusive VICO design that gives faster speed compared to others.
-
The DP and Jet assembly are made in Stainless Steel material.
-
No oil back streaming when used with VICO manufactured (optically dense) Chevron-Baffle.
-
The diffusion pumps are not only retrofitted in our own vacuum systems but sold independently as per user’s requirement in various R&D labs and to other vacuum furnace manufacturers.
VICO Optically Dense Chevron Baffle

Water cooled or ambient type baffles are added above diffusion pumps to reduce the back migration (Backstreaming) of the pump oil which emanates from the hot jet assembly.
The size and placement of the rings precisely positioned to make the baffle optically dense to all hot surfaces.
The design produces the highest possible conductance for system gases while still performing its basic function of condensing Backstreaming oil vapor.
APPLICATION
-
Cold, optically dense chevron-baffle catches oil and does not allow back streaming of oil in the vacuum chamber.
-
It is placed between the Diffusion pump and the high vacuum valve.
-
VICO has many years of experience in fabrication of high quality vacuum components, these chevron-baffle, when used along with VICO Diffusion pump and High vacuum valve, makes the quality of VICO vacuum metallizing plants performance better than other manufacturers.
VICO High Vacuum Valve

A vacuum valve is a device that directs the flow of air to create a vacuum and to control the flow and changing the internal chamber pressure as demanded by the process being run. A vacuum is created by a vacuum valve by controlling the intake of air on one end of the valve and closing it off from being released elsewhere.
Also called right angle or poppet vacuum valves provide vacuum isolation of vacuum systems. In addition, right angle valves provide isolation of roughing pumps from the vacuum system for clean and low outgassing high vacuum applications.
-
VICO has many years of experience in fabrication of high quality vacuum components, these high vacuum valves, when used along with VICO Diffusion pump and chevron-baffle, makes the quality of VICO vacuum metallizing plants performance better than other manufacturers and helps achieving high vacuum levels faster.
These Plants can be fabricated for electro-pneumatic, sequential or PLC operation. VICO has many years of experience in building Industrial Coaters that are running successfully all over the Country.
